The actions and recordings of Fashion Flesh are not an exact science, but always set to one constant of confusion. Most things of the world of sight and sound have worked as a dis-influence rather than as a stepping stone; the output of the past and present flock and tribes used as an example of what not to do. This being more based on a question of personal obsessive compulsive viewing/gaging of all things everywhere rather than the sheer intention of outward disrespect. If things are discredited it is because it's actually found to be worthy of discrediting. Another ever present theme is a complete lack of traditional or identifiable instruments, none whatsoever; all sound heard whether in recording or live is forced out from within the hand-made exotic electronics and devices built by the sole member of FF, John Talaga. Along the loner path of creation is a reoccurring pattern of visits and side steps into collaboration, on and into things like: being one half of the Super Madrigal Brothers...performing in the invented role of 're-producer' for the past trilogy of Momus' albums...sourcing sounds from home-made electronics for Matmos' latest release...spells of ongoing recorded ping-ponging projects with Toog and Florence, Carla Bozulich and a number of current others yet left unnamed...producing material for the vocal bird artist Cagesan's debut...re and de-mixing of tracks for others like Cornelius, Los Fancy Free, SLA, Indian Jewelry, Trs-80, etc etc...dots of releases like spots on compilations and other appearances...playing and performing live on tour and here and there; often alot and sometimes not.............................................. All of these words and a bundle of others on the subject of FF can be found on the tongues of those tied to the performer, producer and recordist, making this required writing but not necessarily required reading.
